2000 - 2004
Hella Jean Bartolo
Hella Jean Bartolo, initially employed at the Central Bank of Malta, significantly contributed to the development of archival institutions in Malta, including the National Archives of Malta. After attending a Records Management course in the United States, she advocated for the growth of records management studies in Malta. She earned a Master's degree in Records and Archives Management in 1994 and became a lecturer at the University of Malta. Bartolo was involved in various organizations, including MaLia, ICA, and ARMA, and worked to secure funding for Malta’s archival sector through collaborations with the World Bank and the Genealogical Society of Utah. She was a founding member of the Friends of the National Archives in 2000.

Max Farrugia
Max Farrugia attended the Liceo in Ħamrun and later studied at MCAST. He pursued journalism at the Regent Institute of London and also earned a degree from the Department of Library and Information Studies at the University of Malta. Farrugia has published several papers and conducted both local and international research on Maltese history, culture, and tourism. His research focuses on Malta's political development during British rule. He is the author of the books L-Internament u l-Ezilju matul l-aħħar Gwerra and Enrico Dandria: Qassis, Politiku, Patrijott. Farrugia was a founding member of the Friends of the National Archives of Malta and is currently a member of the National Council on Archives.
